
Lake Granbury is located on the Brazos River and provides many resources for all of the residents. There is year round boating, fishing, swimming, state parks, water conservation and flood protection. Granbury's in on the National Registrar of Historical Places because of the carefully preserved historical town square. Granbury has scenic areas that includes rolling hills, farm land, pecan groves and 103 miles of shore line dotted with beautiful gated communites on both sides.
The 1890's Victorian type town square is listed on the National Register of Historic places with Texas Monthly Magazine claiming it to be the "most popular". There is the original 1873 Hood County Jail and Museum with its hanging tower, the 1886 Granbury Opera House, 40+ antique shops, boutiques, and gourmet to country restuarants. It is host to many events through out the year including River Boat Cruises, the Fourth of July Fireworks over the lake and parade, Rio Brazo Art Festival, Harvest Moon Festival, Granbury Candlelight Tour of Homes, Labor Day Side walk Sale and Watermelon Fest, just to name a few. Granbury Chamber of Commerce Calender of Events list many more activities on their city calendar.
Lake Granbury is a paradise for fishing for catfish, black bass, and striper. It has 4 parks that include no fee boat ramps, public swimming , camping, and picniking. Bridge Harbor Marina provides docks for public fishing as well as renting all kinds of boats and equipment.
